We were craving biang biang noodles and came here after seeing great reviews online, some of them comparing this place to Xian Famous Foods in New York. We both ordered the biang biang noodles with two toppings. They graciously provided the option of switching out the tomato and eggs topping with stir fry veggies since my partner does not like tomato and eggs. The second topping was ground pork, and if we wanted the third topping, it would've been a zhajiang ground meat topping. The noodles were so chewy and exactly what we were looking for! I love how thick and bouncy they are. The flavor wasn't as spicy as I expected - it was more of a savory, vinegary taste, which was also really good, but just not quite what we were looking for. We also got the cumin lamb, which was reasonably priced at $16 and came with loads of lamb! It complemented our noodles well and we were saying we would love to see a cumin lamb noodle on the menu at some point. The portion is quite generous and we had leftovers for a meal the next day. Service was quick and they were accommodating of our requests. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other noodle options!
We ordered the following: - BiangBiang Style Noodles - Xian Style Beef Noodles - Chinese Spicy Cumin Lamb Hamburger - Stir Fried Shredded Cabbage Everything was delicious and the BiangBiang Style Noodles definitely stood out. They were thick, soft, chewy, and fresh! Something to note is that the employees can't (or don't want to ?) speak English so it helps if you go with someone who knows Mandarin.
Everything, and I mean absolutely everything that I ate at this restaurant was incredible. The flavors were vibrant and strong, what was supposed to be spicy was SPICY, it was all cooked to perfection. I couldn't find a bad thing to say about the food if I tried. Some Xian restaurant just flavor everything with cumin, Biang Biang had so much flavor. My favorite dishes were the fish stew (so spicy!) and the string beans. The waitstaff were phenomenal, the waitress that served us was so funny. When she saw me taking photos of the food she asked me to take photos of her too, she was adorable. This is the perfect place to bring a group and order family style.
Wow they weren't kidding about the biang biang noodles here. Definitely the best I've had and best eaten fresh! The spiced pork bun was surprisingly good. The meat was tasty and extremely juicy. The mapo tofu with beef brisket was extremely flavorful. The garlic eggplant was delicious as well and not *too* oily. Overall a surprisingly good meal. Will definitely be back!
Been wanting to try this spot since I first saw pics of the wide flat noodles which looked very appetizing. I ordered the "SMALL" Big Plate Braised Chicken w Handmade Noodle. There was definitely nothing "small" about this plate... it was huuuge!! This "small" plate could've been shared between 3-4 people!! When the dish was brought to the table I could smell the pleasantly aromatic star anise in it. And the first bite was soooo delicious, I could taste a hint of Sichuan peppers combined w the flavorful star anise. The noodle quality was super amazing!! All of the restaurants in this area have exponentially exceeded my expectations w their noodle quality!!! However, the dish I ordered had way too much chicken in it. It also had potatoes and bell peppers. Tbh it resembles Filipino food (chicken afritada). The individual concepts are fire and very flavorful. I love the extremely fresh handmade noodles, so enjoyable!! Together it's too much though, like someone made a pot of stew and didn't have rice so just mixed it with noodles. I ate the noodles only and saved the chicken, potatoes, and bell peppers in sauce for lunch, which will probably pair much better w white rice. I'm going to come back here and try the Biang Biang noodles by itself w just chili oil. I wanted to enjoy the noodles only and felt the chicken, potatoes, and bell peppers were a bit overwhelming. The hot tea was very good. Overall super fire and going to come back for the noodles only. You MUST TRY the Biang Biang Noodles!!!
One of my friends wanted to try this place so we went. I did not look at the menu and let them order whatever they wanted. Our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. My spice tolerance is not as strong as theirs so pretty much every dish was way above what I could handle. While I could not taste most of the dishes, I did enjoy the texture of the biangbiang noodles. They were thick, chewy and springy which I really liked. The one thing I could eat and taste was the bun with meat filling inside. That was delicious as the meat was both flavorful and juicy while the bun outside was dry enough to not break apart. Overall, I couldn't really taste the food because I could only feel the spice in my mouth. Texture for the noodles was great, but I really couldn't gauge most of the flavors. My friends thought it tasted great though and we had a fun time. Main reason I took off a star is because there is no A/C or fan inside. I was sweating and suffering in the heat.
We just watched the new "Chefs Table: Noodles" episode on Guirong Wei and her Biang Biang noodle shop in London, but being in the SGV we knew we'd have a local option. So my girlfriend and I stopped in early evening this Saturday to Xian Biang Biang to try them for our first time. We beat the rush and were seated immediately. We started with the cucumber salad: refreshing and dressed with a tangy sauce. We then split the "pork hamburger" which was simple chopped pork on a simple bun. Not fancy, but a good appetizer. Then we moved onto the noodles. I had the "two topping" Biang Biang, which had pork, egg, tomatoes, bok choy, and bean sprouts, all tossed with a spicy chili oil. The noodles are the star of the dish... Just the right amount of chewiness. So good! To be honest the noodles are ridiculously long, and if you told me I got just a single 36 foot long noodle I'd believe you. There's no graceful way to eat them. Just dig in. My girlfriend had the eggplant topped Biang Biang noodles. Once again, fantastic noodles. The eggplant stew was a great pairing. Service was quick and efficient. We'll definitely be back.
My good friend's daughter had recommended me to XiAn Biang Biang Noodle several weeks ago. Thank you my dear! I thought I give it a try this past weekend. It is located at Gold World Plaza on the first floor. Free parking is available. It's a quaint place with good seating, but not too big though. I had called ahead to order for pick-up. The lady on the phone didn't appear to understand what I was saying at first. I think she got another person to take my order. Btw, make sure you have the right phone number because there are a couple different numbers floating around on the internet and only one of them is the correct one LOL. Upon entry, the lady at the counter asked me if I was picking up or dining in. It appears they speak limited English. The language I heard was Mandarin. Anyway, we were able to communicate the best we could. My order wasn't ready yet. I acutally had to wait another 25+ minutes. There were only a couple tables occupied. I guess they had lots of to-go orders to fill. Here's my take on the 3 items that I ordered... 1. Celery with bean curd - I really enjoyed this dish. It was light and sesame oil flavor was on point. 2. Three toppings spicy noodles w/ pepper oil - This dish is a bit spicy for me, but it was tolerable. The toppings were pork belly, some kind of other pork, and tomato eggs which I thought were a good balance. I would order this one again. 3. Braised egg plant with string beans - This one was too oily, but the flavors were very good. Good amount of eggplant and string beans were crunchy. Will I be back? Sure, I will be back. I want to try their other dishes. Just a tip, it's best to know the item number when ordering over the phone. They don't have a to-go menu so take a photo of their menu for reference. Happy Eating!
